Alpha Value - short version

The risk of being wrong when completing a hypothesis test. The chi-square table is computed in such as way that if the assumption of "normal data" is true for a given X-bar and sigma, the results of the chi-square test will be incorrectly rejected only 5% of the time. This calculation reflects the alpha value.
