Permanent Mould Casting - short version

Permanent mould casting or also know as gravity die casting, makes use of a reusable mould which is usually in two halves that are hinged or clamped together to facilitate removal of the solidified casting. The mould is coated with an appropriate non stick agent, and the molten metal is fed in under gravity. After solidification the mould is opened and the component removed.
