Impregnate - short version

In reinforced plastics, the saturation of the reinforcement with a resin. A fabric, impregnated with a synthetic resin, is called Impregnated cloth or pregreg cloth. In aerospace industries, it is also called prepregs. The other terminology to remember here is glass cloth which is a dry fabric woven by glass yarns or glass rovings. The term glass cloth laminate may also be used; in this case, the glass cloth is cured with some resins by a hand lay-up process or spray-up process ( see figures 7.5 and 7.6).
