Extrusion - short version

(1) A forming technique whereby a meterial is forced, by compression, through a die orifice.

(2) Extrusion is the process of forging metal through a suitable shaped die to form a product which has a cross section of the same shape as the die. The process of extrusion results in a reduction in the area of the cross section.
