Dwell - short version

A pause in the application of pressure to mould, made just before the mould is completely closed, to allow the escape of gas from the moulding material. In filament winding, it is the time that the transverse mechanism is stationary while the mandrel continues to rotate to the appropriate point for the traverse to begin a new pass.
