Distributed Inspection - short version

Distributed Inspection refers to several inspection stations that are located along the line of flow of work in a factory, placed strategically at critical points in the manufacturing sequence. A distributed inspection system identifies ant defective product as soon as possible to permit some type of action to be taken in response to the quality problem, either correction of the process or separation of the defects from the line. The goal of this inspection strategy is to prevent further cost from being added to defective products.
